interest rates should be different from individual to industry, why should everyday people who just pay their mortgage be screwed over

rates can't control oil gas deziel so all this will do is stress the consumer out even more. watch the cards fall

Renewing Dec. 1st was offered: 5yr 3.6 variable and 5yr 4.39 fixed. Currently at 6.1% …. The 3.6 is so tempting yet terrifying! Should we do fixed or variable?

I guess not enough people bankrupt ... it is pathetic we live in the age of AI and some still think that interest rates can actually help inflation

Our renewal is December this year and we’ve been offered 5yr fixed at 3.8%? It sounds like a worthy rate but should we consider variable?

I still don’t understand why, when everything costs more due to items that are outside of our control (oil and gas prices), how does increasing rates and making things more expensive for me help? Increasing my mortgage payment is a good thing?

I get all that but it sure seems counterintuitive for we the people. We’re already feeling the pinch from all these prices going up. The rates increasing comes across more of a kick in the gut when we need a break.

Fixed for 25 years and “rates could never go lower” than they did. Locked a 5 year in 2018 because rated were going up, then they crashed but went up when again by 2023. Lost so much vs going variable. Renewed in July with variable for first time. So sick of this game.

Hopefully people are able to look past the smoke screens, and far enough into the future. To see where this is actually going.
