If there is air in the glass tube you will have a bad reading. You need a full sample if that’s what you’re talking about with the “line”

I accidentally did this by pouring waaay too much tequila in a bowl to make gummy bear shots, I strained the left over liquid back into the bottle and let it sit, I pulled the bottle a few weeks later and luckily my friend asked why it was cloudy and then told me to dump it when he knew what happened
