Been biking in nyc since the 80’s. I don’t enter the blind spots of vehicles. They can’t tell you they can’t see you when your under the tire.

soooo he got to the light first and started making his turn, but he is in the wrong for not yeilding for you you behind him and probably in his blind spot? You should know coming up to intersections you need to be aware if vehicles will be turning into your path or not. It is your job to yield. You move fast and are typically in blind spots. This is not the same as pedestrians as others are saying in this stupid comment section.

If u bike a lot wouldn’t you know that trucks need alot of room to turn so they don’t always go on the said turn lane so they don’t hit the other things around it?

If you never drove a car before then it would be hard to understand the concept of blind spots. I used to think the drivers are fully aware but no. Cyclists be coming out of nowhere and don’t pay attention to i.e., cars backing up and turning. Y’all just spawn at the wrong moment 😭 mind you, you could be going the speed limit and it still won’t be a difference. Some people (not saying you) are racing down these lanes and be scaring the crap out of us drivers lol especially since we can’t hear y’all approaching like how you hear a motorcycle.

Just because you didn't see his blinker before doesn't mean it wasn't on, since you are on a right lane and traveling fast you should be aware of all vehicles to your left, that truck was always gonna make a wide turn

The teens that were hit by the truck in manhattan were at a red light right next to the front wheel of the right hand side of the truck which is a blind spot. That's why the accident happened.
