@jonesroots: For two weeks, I spent naptime and bedtime, when I should’ve been sleeping, doodling and recreating Halloweentown on my iPad! I was thinking of a way to decorate the windows this fall, and I immediately thought of the Christmas towns we did last winter. And then I thought… what if I did a Halloween town? And THEN I thought… what if I did THEE Halloweentown?! And that’s when I fell headfirst into this side quest of creating the most picturesque little Halloweentown for my house. The poster is available in my bio for you to download and use in your home too! And no, I’m not charging for it. It’s a little blessing for your house and a fun activity for your kids! You just print it out, trim the edges, tape the pages together, tape it to your window, and get to tracing with chalk markers! I got mine from Walmart. They’re the @royallangnickel brand, and I actually really like them compared to others I’ve used. Not sponsored in any way, just sharing what I used and liked! If you have double-pane windows, it can be a little bit of a headache to get started. I feel like your eyes have to adjust to the double vision for a hot second 😂 But eventually you get used to it, and the more you fill in, the easier it gets. Eventually, I removed the poster altogether and added my own little special touches throughout to really make it come to life. We have the Health Spa, where the kids collect the ghost sweat. The dentist, where they get the vampire tooth. Of course City Hall had to be there! We have the movie theater, which is sadly closed forever. Benny makes an appearance as he’s driving away from the Cromwell house. And it wouldn’t be complete without the big, beautiful Cromwell gate, where Sophie turns the lock into a frog. And it all comes together around the Halloweentown pumpkin, cracks and all! But my question is… did you spy the actual illustration from the Halloweentown book of Marnie flying through the sky?! I even added the spiderweb bus stop because, obviously, you need one when you’re traveling to other dimensions! #motherhood #halloweentown #whimsy #craftymom #DIY
