Replying to @Brittney Silk Frybread originated with the Diné (navajao) people. It was a food formed out of struggle and it was made using rations given for the long walk. They were given flour salt and lard to survive while being forced off their ancestral land. From this, Fry Bread was created. It is a reminder of native resilience in the face of genocide. While many natives have adapted this dish, we have to remember who it comes from.
