@thetimes: The billionaire who gave Reform UK a record £36 million was registered as an ordinary British voter for at least four years before publicly saying that he planned to move back to Britain from Hong Kong, The Times can reveal. Ben Delo, the cryptocurrency entrepreneur, has been on the electoral roll since 2022, registering a home address in Oxfordshire. In April he said he would soon “move back to Britain” from Hong Kong so that he could give more money to Nigel Farage’s party. This month Delo announced an unprecedented £36 million gift to Reform. That donation was then matched by Christopher Harborne, the Thai-based cryptocurrency billionaire. Labour has already proposed a bill to cap donations from Britons living overseas at £100,000, with that cap remaining in place for a year if somebody then returns to live in the UK. This could mean that Delo’s donation falls foul of the legislation if it is applied retrospectively, even if he has been on the electoral roll since 2022. Delo declined to answer questions, but is understood to be clear that he has complied with all his legal and regulatory obligations. *FOR NEWS PURPOSES* #news #politics #ukpolitics #reform #crypto

Paul Woodcraft :
No donations should be allowed unless the donor is a British Taxpayer. No one should be allowed to donate more than they pay in Tax.
