You don't have to understand your whole life right now and you don't have to become a completely different person overnight. Sometimes getting through the day is enough. Sometimes progress seems to get out of bed, take a shower, eat something, reply to a message, go out for a few minutes or just give yourself permission to rest. You don't have to explain everything you feel to everyone around you and you don't have to pretend that everything is fine just because you don't know How to put it into words. Some days will be easier than others, and having a difficult day does not erase all the progress you have already made. Please do not compare your life with the people you see online, because you are seeing a small part of someone you are allowed to change your mind, overcome people, start over, make mistakes, have embarrassing moments, fail in something and try again. You are allowed to lose someone and still know that you have to move on. You are allowed to love people who are no longer part of your life. You are not allowed to have an answer yet. There's so much about your life that you haven't experienced yet, places you haven't seen, people you haven't met, memories you haven't discovered, songs you haven't tried, foods you haven't tried, casual conversations you haven't had, sunsets you haven't watched and ordinary days that you don't know will eventually become some of your favourite memories. so don't feel like you need to know exactly where you're going just because everyone else seems to take it. one day at a time, and if a day seems too much, take it one hour at a time. be patient with yourself.
