@diana_talks_realestate: I just lost a $30,000 commission because I showed my client the numbers. We ran the rental comps on the California home they were considering buying, and they could rent a comparable home for about $2,500 LESS per month than the cost of buying. So they walked away from the purchase. And yes, that meant I lost the commission. But my job as a real estate agent isn’t to convince you to buy a house just because I get paid when you do. Sometimes the numbers say buy. Sometimes they say rent. This time, the numbers said rent. Would you have walked away too? #RealEstate #HomeBuying #RentVsBuy #CaliforniaRealEstate #RealEstateAgent
I think the same and almost any realtor would have said buy it sign already lol you are a great person for doing this

Your suggestion would be legit if it was an investment property but you know California unlike other states it appreciates much faster so in 5 years they would have gained much more equity. Today rates are higher so they had options to lower the rate in the near future to lower the mortgage payment when in 5 years they will be paying much higher for rent. You lost a deal and didn’t really give them a good advice.

Be honest are the house really coming down in prices. I talk to alot of bud from work there ppl from the 80s they tell me houses won’t come down in price because of our wages. They all making almost x3 from what they was getting paid 10 yrs ago that’s why they say nothing will be cheaper again

I’m sorry I don’t understand this at all. Renting doesn’t get you equity.
