As an only child latchkey kid, I was raised with Officer McGruff, daytime soaps, and after school specials! Strict rules in 2nd grade to keep the doors locked and do not answer if someone knocks. Bad strangers were in white vans with candy and puppies, brown trenchcoats, or needed help with directions.
