Afghanistan, 2007-2008. SGT Tom Hunter of Battle Company, 2-503 Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade, explains the legend of "Single Shot Freddy" while deployed to the Korengal Valley. A 60-70-year-old Afghan taking potshots at them and, according to Hunter, possibly blind. "Why blind?" "Because he hasn't hit anything yet." Different wars. Different generations. Soldier humor never changes. Yes, this one has made the rounds for years - and it deserves another round. We'd love to find these vets today and hear more of the stories behind moments like this.
