This is the second instalment of Maani Week. Maani is a brand I genuinely stand behind. The quality and customer service are exceptional, and the main man himself is such a gent. You can tell he genuinely loves fragrances. That love shines through the screen. He needs more recognition in this space, and if I can help him get some of that recognition, I will. And before I start this review, I want to make something clear: I have never received PR from Maani and I have never been paid by Maani. I’m doing this because I genuinely believe he deserves more credit. Now let’s get into Sir Harrod. Scent Breakdown 🌶️ Opening That opening again is strong, but not in a way that makes you sneeze. In a way you actually enjoy. Cinnamon is the strongest note initially, then the raspberry comes in and adds some much-needed sweetness. The combination is beautiful. It smells like old money. 🍇 Dry Down The plum makes itself known at this stage, but it isn’t a sweet, juicy plum. It’s dark and mysterious. Jasmine brings in some florals, but somehow the fragrance still maintains that deep, dark character. Nothing feels out of place. 🥃 Once Settled The woods, oud and tobao** are the notes that stand out most here. This smells like something Sean Connery would wear as James Bond. Earthy nuances definitely come through from the patchouli and ambergris, adding even more depth. It’s warm, sophisticated and comforting - almost like sitting down with a beautiful single malt. Sorry 007… No shaken, not stirred here. 👀🤣 📈 Performance Projection: 3-4 hours strong Sillage: IMMENSE Skin: 8-9 hours Clothes: Days And before anyone asks… This was determined with 25-30 sprays. 😂 👔 When & Where To Wear This is my properly dressed fragrance. Shirt, jumper, brogues and you’re ready to go. Work, dinners, formal occasions, evenings out or whenever you want to feel a little more sophisticated. ✅ Pros * Beautiful cinnamon opening * Dark raspberry and plum * Serious depth * Smooth oud * Excellent cold-weather character * Incredible performance * Smells luxurious ❌ Cons * Definitely isn’t going to be everyone’s taste * 25-30 sprays may be excessive for most people 😂 ⭐ Overall Score - 9/10 The days I have on a shirt, jumper and some brogues, this is the scent I pull out. It isn’t for everyone. And honestly, I think that’s part of the appeal. When a fragrance makes someone tell you that you smell like money and royalty, you know you’ve got something special. I absolutely adore this fragrance. And I genuinely don’t think enough people talk about how good Maani’s version actually is. It’s dark, warm, sophisticated and has that old-money character without becoming boring. This is the type of fragrance where you put it on, straighten your collar and suddenly start walking like you’ve got somewhere important to be. 😂 9/10.
