The deeper meaning: No-Face reflects the environment around him. In the greedy bathhouse, he becomes greedy and destructive. When Chihiro treats him calmly and takes him away from that environment, he becomes peaceful again. He doesn't necessarily follow Chihiro because he's in love with her. It's more that she makes him feel accepted, and he doesn't know how to express that in a healthy way.
