@yacht_buoy: My article on Sea Prince III is now live. This 42-footer began life in British Columbia in 1986, with a solid fibreglass hull built for commercial fishing. According to her broker, Nanaimo Shipyards rebuilt her to yacht standard in 2010, adding a welded aluminium deckhouse. Today, there is a queen cabin, diesel heating, a walk-in shower and convertible seating that brings the total accommodation to five berths. Her working origins remain visible in the broad stern, hydraulic drum windlass and bulbous bow. Below the wheelhouse sits a single John Deere 6068 Turbo. The broker quotes seven knots on two US gallons an hour, approximately 7.6 litres. That figure deserved a closer look. Asking price: approximately €77,900 | £66,800 | US$89,500. In the article, I explore her conversion, machinery and accommodation, alongside the range calculations, ownership costs and checks that matter when considering a former working boat. There is plenty to like here, and plenty worth understanding before picturing yourself at the helm.
