This was how I decided which dog of 5 we met at our meet and greet to adopt, Milo marched out the door and right up to Loki and starting licking him, and I’m like “yep that’s the one”. We’ve had Milo for 4 years and they get up to lay closer to each other. 🥹

Our border collie did this to our boxer every day and the boxer sat through it all. Now they are both gone and my heart hurts for them💜💜

It’s not always a good sign that they lick faces. It’s how they communicate and could be a display of dominance. You need to look at the rest of the body language.

Stop my 9yo frenchie I rescued last year from a neglectful house and was dog reactive does this with my staffy I already had, he was reactive to her when I got him and they still snap at each other sometimes but they also cuddle up together and lick each others face and he will even suckle on her ears, they do not do good when they are separated so even tho they snap at each other sometime we could never get rid of one
