From what I understand, you technically CAN get arrested for not showing up to jury duty, but it’s pretty rare and generally only happens when someone is an extreme repeat no show who continues ignoring a judge’s direct order to appear. I’m so glad you realized it was a scam! I just wanted to mention that for anyone who wasn’t aware and might receive a similar call, because unfortunately those scams can sound really convincing. 💕 I actually had one last year that was genuinely terrifying. I cannot stand people who scam others over the phone and take advantage of someone simply because they don’t know it’s fake. They literally prey on people’s fear, and it’s awful 😭

First thing u should have did was hang up before giving any info & call the sheriffs department and ask if (his name) works there lol. But im glad u knew once he said kiosk it was done😂😂. Also be careful of websites that you sign up for, they sell all your info.

Omggggg something similar with me but it was a ticket. They basically told me my own social . Asked for the last 4 digits I never give my social otp always ask for a alternate way to verify. They told me the first 5 like of u wanted a verification why tell me the first five numbers I knew it was a scam because that confidential info why would h need me to clarify something you already told me 😭😭😭

this is a very old scam. They’ve been doing it for a long time. All y’all need to know is the government or law-enforcement is never going to call you about something like that. They’re not gonna call you and tell you that you have a warrant. They’re not gonna ask you for no money.

Just giving information for anyone else learning about this whose worried and wants to stay safe: The government will never contact you for anything like this thru your phone. They will always send you something in the mail that’s clearly labeled as being related to that institution. Cops may call and leave a message in cases where a family member has something happened yes, but regarding jury duty you will only receive summons/missed dates/etc in the mail (typically this will say “official business of the court” and same goes for social security if you check the websites for both they state this as well in case anyone ever isn’t sure, just go to the .gov website. Jury duty is also based on your county, not the state so if you move out of county your jury duty location changes.
