Agree with all of these! Also I use endo ice before drilling to test that the tooth is frozen. Helps build trust with the patient and puts them at ease that they’re numb. I know there’s no scientific evidence to support this, but anecdotally nervous patients don’t freeze as well IMO.

Warming anesthesia prior to injection is a strange idea to me. Then I researched on PubMed. It’s true according to 3 articles I briefly read. Damn it!

I pull cheek taught then wiggle cheek while depositing and go super slow then press on the injection site after and massage

Is there a reason do you think that some just don’t take the steps to make it less painful like having less time or just not being arsed? Only once in my life have I had one take the time to make it not hurt and that one time made all the difference to me as someone petrified of the dentist.

topical anesthesia first for 2-3mins on a dry mucosa then the injection very slowly works well as well

ok what I don't get it. you did NHS dentistry. where appointments are like 30 mins. how are you putting LA and leaving it for 2 to 3 mins ? what are you doing that time to make the appointment more efficient

I’m 31, never had a filling but my dentist says there may be a filling in my future.. I’m positively terrified of needles so I’m hoping not for a while! I hope he maybe does some of these tips 😂

I always feel mine pop when my dentist puts the needle in my gum, then it’s the waiting game as one is never enough so he has to go in sometimes 2 or 3 times before I’m numb
