@leokatieocdadhd: 1. Apologizing 🙏 OCD: You feel a constant urge to over-apologize, even when nothing went wrong, driven by anxiety, guilt, or fear of being disliked or judged. Not OCD: You say sorry when it’s appropriate, & it feels resolved after the apology. 2. Confessing 💬 OCD: You feel compelled to confess small, irrelevant, or imagined “wrongs” to relieve guilt, even when no one asked or noticed. Not OCD: You share something if it’s relevant or to connect with someone. 3. Rereading messages 📱 OCD: You reread the message repeatedly, checking for anything that could be misunderstood, offensive, or “off,” even if it seemed fine the first 10 times. Not OCD: You glance over a message once or twice to check for errors or tone, then send it without lingering worry. 4. Planning 📝 OCD: You over-plan every detail to control outcomes & avoid discomfort, uncertainty, or imagined consequences, & feel panicked if plans change. Not OCD: You make plans to stay organized & feel prepared. 5. Fixating on “being good” 🤍 OCD: You constantly question your morality, replaying thoughts, avoiding actions, or confessing to feel like a “good person.” Not OCD: You value being kind & respectful, but don’t ruminate if you make a mistake. 6. Feeling responsible for others’ emotions 🫂 OCD: You feel obsessive guilt or responsibility for how someone feels, even if you had nothing to do with it. Not OCD: You care how others feel, but understand that people have their own reactions. If you can relate a little too much... the best first step is learning more about OCD. My fiancé & I are OCD researchers & made 2 OCD self-help apps, which are a great place to start 🫶 Search in the app store: “RumiNot” for OCD & “PeachyTalks” if your OCD is about your relationship (ROCD). #rocd #ocd #rumination #intrusivethoughts #overthinking
