I run into this with the business I run. Dad goes on golf trips or hunting trips but mom feels too guilty, or it’s too expensive etc. to take the trip she really wants to go on.

Bought myself a bmw m50 as a graduation present to myself after grad school. Oh and paid it off in 8 months……which here I am explaining. But for the cause……responsible, informed, planned and PAID FOR BY ME. And the comments I get……mostly from men…..😏

My husband shakes his head at my closet with 50* dresses. Most all bought from the sales rack at Macys. But because they are designer brands he thinks they are very expensive. Meanwhile we have 3. Yes 3 motorcycles in our garage. Do I ride motorcycles? No. Soooooo🤷♂️

in our house, and I’ve been married 34 years my husband absolutely cannot understand why if you have one handbag why do you need a second one he thinks it is horrible spending and if you’re not putting every penny into 401(k)’s and investing, driving a car to basically the wheels fall off of it. It has been a struggle our whole marriage because he thinks I spend horribly and I do spend small amounts a lot at thrift stores. I own two coach bags that I paid less than $20 for.

One of the rules in our relationship is we do not berate the other for purchases, as long as it’s something one of us actually really wants and we can raise the money. If I want a bag I can have it, he wants his flashy car I’m fine with it, we do not give each other grief for what the other one wants.
