Very interesting take because Jhene Aiko came out the previous week no promo and pulled in more sales than Miley. I think the people aren’t feeling her music tbh. I like the album and I loved something beautiful!

i wish artists in general just performed singles more. doesn’t have to be a tour because she obviously doesn’t want to do that. but i miss artists going four or five places to perform their singles, seeing different performance outfits and so on

i think she is in a weird position because general audiences have such a connection to her from their childhood and she almost needs the interaction and relatability to an extent. bangerz was their childhood star going bad so they were interested. flowers was her going through this personal moment people wanted to know more about and relate to her through. since flowers, there's very little relatability and unfortunately i think miley needs that bc of her hannah roots when other artists don't.

I get what you're saying. She doesn't want to play the game and usually I'm ok with that but with the lead single I thought she was gonna go all out with promo and I assumed it was a pop/dance album. I think I was just confused on what to expect from the album. It being her 10th studio album I wish she did the full works and press run like she use to. Love her still ofc and I'm hopefuly that she may do a residency next year because I need to hear her live.

I also think longer breaks between projects could help build demand for the music itself, this album came only a year after Something Beautiful which came only 1.5 years after Used To Be Young (not to mention the HM anniversary this March)
