The World’s Tallest Mountains ⛰️ #Facts #InterestingFacts #MountEverest #K2 Did you know that the five tallest mountains in the world all stand above 8,000 meters? Here are all five: Coming in at number 5 is Makalu, with an elevation of 8,485 meters. Located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Tibet, it's one of the more challenging mountains to climb due to its steep pitches and knife-edged ridges. Number 4 is Lhotse, standing at 8,516 meters. It shares part of its route with Everest and is often climbed as preparation for its taller neighbor. Kangchenjunga takes the third spot at 8,586 meters. Also in the Himalayas, it straddles the India-Nepal border. It's notable for its five peaks, which represent the five treasures of snow. The second tallest mountain is K2, or Mount Godwin-Austen, with an elevation of 8,611 meters. Located on the China-Pakistan border, it has the second-highest fatality rate among climbers, earning it the nickname "The Savage Mountain." Finally, towering above all is Mount Everest. Its elevation of 8,848 meters makes it the tallest mountain on Earth. Found on the Nepal-Tibet border, it attracts hundreds of climbers each year, despite its challenging weather conditions and the risks involved.
