We have potash mines here in the US maybe we need to ramp that up because it has to be cheaper than what the Canadians produce it for.

Potash is hygroscopic. Good luck transporting that over water. Also the cost to transport over water is much more than driving a truck across the border.

US farmers buy from Canada because that is the cheapest source of potash. Other options have always been available at a higher price. If we choose any of them, it will cost more.

Farmers buy what's available and Belarus pot ash is already coming to the USA and it is cheaper already we just can't get enough they will need to increase there production to supply us

The largest Potash mine in the world is in the USA. In eastern NC and the also own another mine in Florida. So this is not a correct article. Google Nutrien a Canada company but two mines in the USA.
