You go through being told you have cancer, the fear of whether it will be cured, you get treatment, then get told you are disease free. However, you are put on a 5 year pathway of yearly mammograms and medication so what happens after the 5 years , how many times do you hear of it coming back later, that will never leave your thoughts. I don’t live in fear of the disease, what it has taught me is to embrace everyday and make the most of the time I do have, I’ve changed my job, have a work life balance, returned to the gym, walk my dogs and spending more time with my daughter. It’s made me appreciate life much more❤️❤️❤️

I think cancer is a lonely journey, people don’t know what to say so avoid you. Diagnosed 2022 breast cancer, surgery and treatment. Annual mammograms have been clear, but waiting for results makes me so anxious, sometimes it takes weeks to hear back. Since having breast cancer every pain, headache etc I think it’s cancer, wish I could stop feeling like that. I’m really scared about my 5 year milestone when the annual mammograms and support of the breast cancer team and MacMillan nurses ends 😢

Unfortunately my diagnosis is terminal and I find myself recognising that life isn’t about bucket lists and rushing to do all the things I might have wanted to do, but more about appreciation of all the little things that make up my life. Don’t misunderstand me there are plenty of things id still like to do.

Every bump or bruise is worrisome. Still hearing your blood looks great, you’re doing well, waiting for the next bit of bad news. I did so much chemo and radiation. Most cancer patients are skinny, I gained over 40 pounds
