One of them was based on form. You can see Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers in that position. Can Palmer win that place over them? No one can tell. The moment can change for anyone, though consistent performance still counts. He might not have been able to bench those players at the World Cup… but what about now? What has changed? Why him now? That will definitely be his question. Why does Thomas Tuchel want him now and not others? Is it because they didn’t win the World Cup? Yes, it could be. Or are you saying that if the same squad had won the World Cup for England, some of those players still wouldn’t be there? No. I totally disagree with that. On the other hand, Chelsea benefit more from this. Look at Cole’s performance since the beginning of the season - you can tell he maybe wants to prove a point. Right now the club is benefiting from that. I’m sure they gave him the right advice on how to respond to the call.
