I’ve been in recruiting for 25 years and it’s highly unprofessional. At most bring a bottle of water in your bag if you need a sip because your mouth got dry from talking. Nothing more! They will hire the non iced coffee person.

I feel like people that say it’s not a big deal don’t work in the corporate setting. I would never walk into the Fortune 500 I work at to interview with an iced coffee, it’s not a casual thing to get an interview.

I’ve hired many people in my career and GenZ is blowing opportunities for a lot of reasons. There is no reason to bring coffee or anything that distracts from the conversation. You are there to put your best foot forward and discuss your qualifications. Here’s another thing that will impact opportunities….hiring managers search out your social media.

I think knowing not to bring it shows you can adapt to the different levels of decorum that are appropriate for different things. An interview is one of the more formal types of meeting, so you want to max out professionalism. They also offer a coffee a lot of the time, and it’s nice to be ready to accept (or, if they don’t, it’s kinda rude to have a nice drink that isn’t available to everyone in the meeting).
