@that.labor.nurse: What is pushing during labor REALLY like? 😂 Before I became a labor and delivery nurse, I was convinced pushing went something like: 10 centimeters → three dramatic pushes → perfectly clean baby → commercial break. Turns out babies do not care that the episode only has eight minutes left. 😂 If you’re a first-time mom preparing for labor and birth, I’m here to tell you what childbirth is actually like—the normal, weird, funny, messy stuff nobody seems to warn you about. Because apparently my pre-nursing childbirth education consisted entirely of TV, vibes, and misinformation. What did YOU believe about giving birth before you got pregnant? 👇 Hashtags #PushingDuringLabor #FirstTimeMom #GivingBirth #PreparingForLabor #LaborAndDelivery

It took two hours of pushing for my first, no epidural, I was exhausted at the end of that delivery

I pushed for three hours with my first baby. She was a big girl, 9 pounds 5 ounces. I have never been so tired.

I remember the doctor telling me they were going to break my water and put this wire/prob into my uterus and onto my babies head because he was having heart rate de-celerations and they needed more accurate readings. I was HELLA scared tbh. but it caught me off guard when she put her hand up me and goes "oh, he's got ALOT of hair". I was like girl what 😂😭

i didn't push long as a first time mom, i felt when he descended tho... that pressure was so intense I could peel paint off the wall...but I remember my OB telling my husband to look and see all of the baby's hair. next thing I knew she told me my son had a very pretty girl face if we are sure he's a boy😅

I pushed for hours with my first. Worst pain of my life that felt like it would never end. My provider afterwards was all, "That was relatively fast for a first baby!" Well, it didn't feel fast 😂😭.

Nurse wanted to check me during a contraction. Somehow it was the weirdest and most normal experience ever. She proceeded to tell me she could feel hair and my baby liked having her head rubbed 😂

Thank goodness it didn’t take me long to push my babies out. I remember my OBGYN said to me, push like you are having a bowel movement and I sure did. Three pushes and babies all out.

So I was really overweight and 35 weeks pregnant. I showed up in the ER after my water broke and it took them an hour to see my water broke! I had a flood at home, called the doctor and showed up in the ER with a towel between my legs. They didn’t believe me. I ended up getting an ultrasound while I was in labor but I wasn’t dilating. I ended up having an emergency c section cuz my son was breech even though I told them when I got to the ER that my baby was breech cuz I had an ultrasound 3 days earlier! My son has done everything on his time since before he was born loll

Pushed for about 2 and 1/2 hours with my first. My (amazing!) nurse kept telling me that she didn’t feel much hair on baby’s head. Then after she was born with a fair amount, I asked why she thought that. OP presentation. 😩
