@whale_detective: One of my favorite species to see in the fall is the northern gannet! Northern gannets are one of the largest seabirds with a wingspan of around 6 feet. Adults (pictured) have incredibly bright plumage that stand out beautifully against the New England foliage! These plunge-diving seabirds can dive from over 130 feet above the ocean, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph, in order to feed on small schooling fish! To protect their body from the impact of their dive, these birds have specialized air sacs beneath the skin of their head and chest (much like airbags in a car!). #birds #newengland #fall #wildlife #ocean
Came for hmthe whales, stayed for the cat. Some how got bird in flight photography? Cool.

I just came across your page (from your Narwhal video) and what a fascinating journey honestly! I am a structural biology PhD student myself and it’s so encouraging to see fellow Muslim sisters in such uniquely fascinating fields. Love your videos Maa Shaa Allah!
