Chris Lee Lopez :
A society is not truly free until every household has the opportunity to be largely self sufficient. When every property has access to renewable energy, clean water, responsible waste management, reliable fuel, and the ability to grow food, people gain greater independence, resilience, and security.
This is not simply an environmental goal, it is a vision of personal liberty. Communities that can produce their own essentials are less dependent on fragile systems and better equipped to withstand economic, political, and natural challenges.
A long-term public policy objective should be to encourage every property, where practical, to have access to technologies and infrastructure such as solar panels, wind turbines, water wells, water-powered energy where feasible, septic or sustainable wastewater systems, reliable energy sources, and productive soil for food cultivation. Empowering citizens with these capabilities strengthens families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
True freedom is not measured only by rights on paper, but by the ability of people to provide for their own basic needs with dignity and independence.
