This is just gonna be a generational divide I think. Growing up and for my whole life, a crush was considered a light playful thing not actual infatuation or obsession. I guess at some point the colloquial use of that term changed for younger people.

This is exactly what I said in the comment of that guys post. Attraction is normal for everyone but fantasying yourself in a relationship with anyone regardless of how out of reach they are is just weird. Everyone should feel secure enough in their relationship to be fine with their partner just thinking someone looks generically attractive, but if you’re partner is thinking about a celebrity that way then don’t normalise it because most of these celebrity crushes are beyond attraction and if they were approached by said celebrity they would leave their partner IMMEDIATELY and that’s due to the delusions people tell themselves to try and justify thinking about someone else like that other than your partner.
