symfasizer :
Meh. Use both. Run FL as a plug in for ableton to take advantage of the step sequencer. Switch between the two to break up the monotony of staring at one or the other.

Fl is simple, your able to put plugins STOCK without paying, The mixer and channels is simple, and most tiktok creators and producers use it like 21 savage Izrosh

the daw that works best is the one you know how to use, so ableton is better than fl in your case (i use reaper)

I've been an FL user for ~12 years and I consider myself an amateur Ableton user (<100hrs). FL generally has a better piano roll, mixer, and has some unique and very powerful native VSTs (harmor mostly) while also being more open ended and sandbox-like. Ableton has better live and recording capabilities, more uniform and arguably better native effects, and a much more consistent workflow. Choose whichever one you're most comfortable with, and if you want to be taken seriously, then avoid FL studio because of the strong connotation it has with amateur beat making.

as someone who's been using fl studio all the way back when it was fruityloops 2. ableton sound quality is supreme. fl studio can do some things better, and it's more intuitive to use but ableton can process music in ways fl can't and the final sound quality of ableton is just better.
