@erinrackham: I don’t even know if I really want to try IVIG (or SCIG) because I watched my dad go through it for his Aplastic Anemia and it wasn’t pretty. ❤️🩹 I just wanted to do my testing before the end of the year while my insurance fully covers it and if it turns out that I actually qualify, then I’ll look more seriously into whether I want to pursue it or not. The studies and trials for Long COVID do show some promising results, but I know it’s a pretty major intervention and I’d love to avoid it if I can. My docs agreed it was worth seeing if it was even on the table as far as getting insurance approval or not. (It’s notoriously difficult to get approved for.) Not thrilled with the vaccine effects so far, though. Hopefully they pass quickly! 🤞🏻 #IVIG #SCIG #longCOVID #pneumovax #vaccinechallenge
If it helps, I have ME and regularly get my covid vaccine and I always feel like shit for a day or two. But always get back to baseline. 👍🏼

I also got my booster recently (ME/CFS and MCAS). I was back at my baseline after about a week (6 days to be exact) if that helps ❤️I kept reminding myself throughout that period that catching the real thing would be much worse

I am the same way with mono. Epstein-Barr and Covid stay in your body and get reactivated so everytime my immune system reacts to something I feel like I have mono all over again. I have had active mono like 5 times

Do you mind if I ask if you were able to get insurance pre-authorization for IVIG?

When you have mecfs you are way more sensitive to medications/toxins/chemicals. Doing two at once is a lot. Being aware of the sensitivity can help!

In my experience, SCIG is not hard. However, my understanding is that the dose that treats long Covid not the dose insurance will approve based on a vaccine challenge.

Just remember to take cortisone iv with the IVIG - otherwise side effects can be terrible
