@jasonmichaelthomas: Asimina triloba... known as the American pawpaw. Delicious vanilla, custard and caramel notes when ripe. Some say the riper the better. They start green and firm and then get soft and brown just like bananas. They're full of big seeds that are allegedly poisonous. The skin allegedly has neurotoxins in it. I learned about these when I was in Boy Scouts. Camp Tamarack near Jones, Michigan had quite a patch. I'm sure it's still there. Been eating them recklessly for 40+ years. 😂 I've been making ice cream with this delicious fruit for the past 10 or 15 years. Highly recommend!
