I work at a dealership. That is not normal at all. You may want to contact an attorney. Reach out to Nissan corporate. They may have sold you something called low Jack or an antitheft device that you were not aware of. You will find that on your pre-contract disclosure now I’m in California so we always give you a pre-contract disclosure which has any additional items listed on it, but it will also clearly be on your contract. Some finance managers and some dealerships are really shady and will slip that stuff in without necessarily bringing it to your attention. I am so sorry that happened to you. That is incredibly scary and not cool.

Did you order it brand new or bought it off the lot? The lot might have them on the vehicles for theft and forgot it remove it.. also why couldn’t the mechanic remove it after finding it and then plug in the scanner?

I just saw another video from a guy who just bought a brand new SUV (only a week old). He got a notice from a company about activating his device. He went and looked in the same spot and there it was the tracking device. Also just had my 2023 truck in to my mechanic and he said that the dealership/car maker’s aren’t releasing the codes because their service centers aren’t losing money because no one takes their vehicle to them because they’re so expensive. So with them not releasing the codes you have no choice but to take it to the dealership.

The dealership probably told you it was a brand new car, but they could have used it for a test drive car. I know they turned back the. Mileage on the car, so it looks new. I worked for a dealership before .

this is pretty normal at least where I'm from when you buy a car from a car lot and there's still money owed. they put a tracker device on it and then when the car is paid off they take it off

Go back to the dealership show them the pics tell them what your mechanic found and you would like some answers. I would definitely tell them to take that tracking system out and to reactivate your computer system. I wouldn't waste my time with the sales people I would ask to speak with the dealership manager. As I'm typing this I'm getting irritated for you 😒

Am I the one who suggested you to check this. Because the same thing happened to me. The dealership could not find anything wrong with my Tahoe. It kept dying in the middle of driving. I created a ticket with General Motors and they had to do something. Long story short. I had a tracking device and when they disconnected it no more problems ever sense they took it off
