Married 12 years. He did the slow pull away starting about 6-7 yrs in. And by the end when I was exhausted from fighting to save the relationship and stopped chasing, he decided to leave. I will never recover. In my heart I still love him, but I also hate him for abusing me for years.

I left nearly 3 months ago, it was the best decision I ever made, I’m so much happier and my anxiety has basically disappeared. Completely no contact and I’m actually excited about life and the future rather than being sat on the sidelines waiting for someone that was never going to change

OK, but if this is such a universal experience and everyone experience is it, is it just a normal part of relationships? I’m not saying it feels good or that we should put up with it, but if it’s so common, will we find better? Or just another one? The beginning felt so wonderful.
