@speedy.petey56: During the great flood of 1938, floodwaters covered Manchester Avenue in Anaheim, turning this normally busy roadside area into a waterlogged scene. Bob’s Place, near what is now the State College Boulevard/I-5 area, was a popular roadside stop known for burgers, malts and chicken pies. The establishment also had a more colorful reputation, including run-ins with authorities over alcohol violations involving minors. Decades later, construction of the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) completely transformed this stretch of Anaheim, and the old roadside landscape seen here disappeared. #Anaheim #AnaheimHistory #OrangeCountyHistory #VintageCalifornia #nodoubt
