@s4p_c: Muhammad Ali Pasha founder of modern Egypt Muhammad Ali wasn’t just building an army, he was building a state that could actually throw its weight around. From crushing the Mamluks and taking control of Egypt to campaigns in Arabia, Sudan, Greece and the Levant, his forces pushed far beyond Egypt’s borders. And when it came to Europe, he wasn’t exactly playing by their rules either. He dealt with Britain, France, Russia and the Ottoman Empire through war, diplomacy, alliances and pressure — sometimes cooperating with them, sometimes forcing them to react to him. A modern army, a powerful navy, industrial reforms, and ambitions that went way beyond Egypt… Muhammad Ali basically turned Egypt into a regional power that the European empires couldn’t just ignore. #egypt #fyp #edit #History #explore
