I try to explain this to people! If they don’t TRY to enjoy where they live, then they’re doing themselves a disservice. There’s high points everywhere when you aren’t trying to make it be what it isn’t and only focusing on the low points

its a mixed bag. i think its perfect for people with families and close knit longtime friends, but if you're a transplant it can be isolating.

I’ve lived in Oklahoma for over half of my life and there are things I love; I met my wife here, our daughter was born here, we started our businesses here and made a lot of friends along the way. But the politics in OK and OKC suck. Being in pretty much the reddest state you really have to stick to your safe zones if you’re any kind of minority. There’s so much racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, transphobia, sexism, etc. So I guess it’s a mixed bag. OKC is a really great place for local businesses which is really great.
