I adopted a dog last year and she ended up being wild - even knocked me down & broke my nose. I hired a trainer. After 15 months, my dog is getting close to being ready to take the certified therapy dog test. It takes time.

I brought a rescue puppy home and it took my resident dog about a month before she'd even stay in the same area he was in. 6 months later and they are now best buddies and my older dog is more active than she used to be and definitely happier. So glad we stuck it out cause he's been a great addition to the family.

we took a rescue i wasn't sure we could keep. she bit me numerous times, didn't like other animals, tore up pillows & blankets. tried to crate train her so we could leave the house, she broke out of crate & chewed everything in sight. my husband refused to give up on her. lost my husband to cancer 5 yrs. ago, but I still have his heart dog, we've still got each other. I love my BabyGirl so much.🥰

Also if you have a dog at home I think you should bring them with you to the adoption to make sure they fit well together.. like cmon people. Do better.

We got a rescue dog, he warmed up to my husband immediately. It took him THREE YEARS to warm up to me, and he still only tolerates me most days. We have had him for 5 years now. Rehoming him has never once crossed my mind.
