@noahs.ark.scans: Come spend a day at Durupınar with us. The drilling team had just reached about 4 meters down when they hit something hard. The drill can’t get through solid rock, so everything stops while they figure out what they’ve hit. Andrew takes a look, and it could be a piece of basalt, there are basalt boulders scattered around the site, but the team won’t know until they examine it properly. So they document it, label it, bag the sample and send it off for testing. The team is currently drilling in an area where some of the interesting subsurface features show up deeper down, around 7 meters. So we keep going.
