There’s so much happening in this world and in our individual lives, that I think sometimes we forget there’s an actual human being on the other side of every interaction. Everybody is carrying something we may know absolutely nothing about. We live in an era that constantly tells us to choose ourselves, protect our peace, worry about ourselves and yes, sometimes we need to. But I never want protecting myself to cost me my humanity. Sometimes it’s not about doing something huge. It’s simply seeing someone. Listening. Sharing a meal. Showing kindness without needing anything in return. Making somebody feel like they matter.
