To think to that both of their main focus was hiccup(well stoick atleast) and when stoick died that purpose fell onto gobber (and sorta valka and the riders) but gobber was the main one to help raise hiccup along side stoick after valka was taken.

Gobber went through the wringer when you really think about it, went from killing to helping dragons, went through seeing his best friends wife get taken and reunited with, saw his best friend die, watched hiccup grow from a skinny kid to a strong chief, went through the dragons leaving, and probably experienced valka dying (im not saying she died in homecoming she is probably decently old or just off screen helping but gobber seems younger than her)

I wish they kept this scenes in the real life movie a lot of the great scenes that really made in impact in the animated movie got butchered and thrown in the ocean by the live action movie

I don't think valka died. I think that they just didn't put her in the homecoming special.

I'm just saying Gobber could absolutely solo Stoic in a fight. stoic was strong, yes, but Gobber was built different
