The doctor’s office I work at closes at 12p on Thursdays. We had a clinically late patient (appt was at 11a) show up at 12 (he was aware of the 15min grace period) and was knocking at the door seeing us see him knock. He called. We didn’t answer. Told him through the door we wouldn’t let him in bc the doctor was gone for the day. Tf?

I had a guy knocking on the door at 6:15 on Christmas Eve (we closed at 6) telling me he just needed wrapping paper. I told him he had 364 other days to get it and he wasn’t getting in to get it today!

I worked at McDonald's over a decade ago and we turned the parking lot lights and everything off. The doors are locked chairs are up on the tables etc. Two young men proceed to walk up to the door pulling on the door. I tell them we are closed and they walk off...they actually walked around to the drive-thru presenting window (thank goodness I locked it) and was like we want to order. I said again, we are closed. One of them had the audacity to ask me what are we going to eat....I said Whataburger they are open 24/7. I don't understand why you would walk up to a place where even the parking lot lights are off and still think you are going to be helped.

That is why I work from home. I couldn’t do customer service in person. I would be fired just for my facial expressions.

The office I worked at when I was in person closed at 5 but we worked until 5:30. Every day 8-5. People would show up right before closing and expect not to be rushed out and there was something we stopped doing after 4 because it went offline at 4:30. People would be mad at us like we don’t have signs on our website about all those things. And of course we had the 5:15 door shakers thinking they’d be assisted anyway. And Covid was worse, we didn’t let anyone in the building for a few years and they would show up thinking we’d make an exception because they took off work and we said you could have done this over the phone because we’re just going to call you while you’re in the parking lot regardless.

The way I would have picked up the phone while he was watching and hung up on him 😂. I was a menace when I worked retail. I used to turn the ringer all the way down on my store phone when I worked retail at best buy.

Being honest (not rude…just honest) makes them go off. I got called rude because i couldn’t answer my work cell after the customer kept calling me back to back. I politely told them via text that i am not always available to immediately answer since my job is hands on. I get told i am very rude and am doing them no favors. When i say i am exhausted i truly mean that.

I used to work for Sears parts store years ago. We closed at 7pm every weekday..4pm on weekends. The amount of regulars we would get that would come flying in the parking lot as we’re walking to our cars telling us “I just need one part!” was astounding..smh. Like why do you think we’re about to deactivate the alarm and turn on the registers just so you can buy one part..when you KNOW what time we close?! People are exhausting 🤦🏾♀️
