I love both Robert Pattinson and Henry Cavill but I don't want either of them in this movie for the same reasons. It worked so well for the other projects and we got to see so many hidden gems. That's what I always loved about this franchise.

On the one hand, Aegon is around 25 to 27 during the Conquest, while Robert is in his 40s. I’m not completely against aging him up, but then you’d have to age up Visenya and Rhaenys too. Suddenly it’s no longer three young people building a new world. It’s a group of mature, experienced middle aged politicians making a calculated grab for power, and that changes the whole dynamic of the original trio for me. On the other hand, Robert is a brilliant actor and would absolutely smash it. I genuinely can’t think of a 25 to 30 year old actor who could bring the same presence, physically and acting wise. And this is a movie, not a TV show. If they want the general public to actually go to the cinema, they need recognizable stars. Some actors can be unknown, sure, but the main character? I’m not sure.

They don’t need a high cost actors to pull an audience. They have the audience, give us well cast talented actors that can play the parts, look the actual description of the character and use that budget for the world building.
