Time to close the pool. It's an extension of my summer back yard that holds so many warm memories. The kids were to busy to come over and swim this year. I even bought my adult daughter flippers to play mermaids again. I understand their business. I'm closing the pool this weekend and I'll buy mums and pumpkins to help me get over it. I miss grading handstands over and over and over

my Aunty Bev told me when I was 5 and couldn't wait until Christmas, "every year goes by faster as you get older, so be patient, time is a gift". I'm 53 and she was absolutely correct ❤️

I felt this in my soul. I live for those dear 4 months every year. My yard will fade away from green to brown, I won’t get to hear my daughter’s laughs of joy from the pool or feel the warmth of the sun on my skin giving me life. Every year my heart breaks a little more each time, that one more summer has past us by, seeming to go quicker than ever before. 💔💔
