As someone approaching 40 in a few years, this is so depressing with the prospect of being single at 40. You mean to tell me the late night phone calls of falling asleep on the phone, the excitement of getting to know someone new, and checking your phone during those phantom phone notifications…all of a sudden ends because I hit 40? No more thrill, passion, and desire? Just money and loneliness disguised as “peace”. Life really does suck the older you get.

This is funny because I was just talking about a study suggesting that the longer you’re single, the harder it can be to adjust to a relationship. People judge those who go relationship to relationship, but they may just be more used to partnership. The longer you’re alone, the more comfortable you get with your own space and routines, so letting someone in can be harder. 😂

At 45, I am a retired veteran….My kids, passport and peace of mind is all that I need.. I was married for 10 yrs and will never do it again.. I told one recently that she had to compete against my money and peace of mind and right now they’re both on point..
