If someone would just give me a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE so I can read whatever I want I’d pay more than Netflix for that shit. If I can legally rent it and I know I’m RENTING IT instead of “buying it” for 80-120$ per friggin story and then it DISSAPEARING… I’m just saying they could make a lot of money if they weren’t so freaking greedy.

I want to add, this is why manga readers don’t want manhwas included on the sites. So many sites got taken down months ago, sites that have been around for years. Yes, pirating isn’t great, but if buying isn’t owning, pirating isn’t stealing. Especially in this case where people paid real money for digital comics(which is why I never buy digital manga)

I’d pay like 50-60 bucks a month to read unlimited stories but paying by the chapter is what deters a lot of people because it gets expensive. I mean I spent almost 100 bucks to read one story

If companies like Kakao Entertainment don’t want to invest in proper translations and insist on keeping their content exclusively in its original language, how far can that realistically go? You may have a Korean audience, but if you never expand beyond it, where does the money to support all these creators come from? And honestly, fighting piracy isn’t going to solve that problem. People who pirate something because they can’t afford it weren’t going to buy it anyway. Taking the illegal version down doesn’t magically turn them into paying customers. Instead of spending so much money fighting piracy, wouldn’t it make more sense to invest in good English translations and affordable subscription models? If you charge $5 for every two chapters of a 90-chapter story, people can end up spending a ridiculous amount of money on something they don’t even own. And after what happened with platforms like Tapas, it’s understandable why people don’t want to keep paying for digital content that can simply disappear
