[ DREAM TEARS THU ĐÔNG 2026 ]
Patricia Krenwinkel’s story is not an outlier. It is part of a larger crisis. Survivors of domestic violence and coercive control are routinely criminalized, sentenced harshly, and denied the chance to heal. At 19, Patricia was groomed, isolated, and manipulated by Charles Manson, who used fear, manipulation, and forced drug use to control every aspect of her life. Governor Newsom has supported survivors of domestic violence like this through legislation and funding and promised to center healing and rehabilitation in California’s justice system. Yet those promises still haven’t reached Patricia. For more than five decades, Patricia has committed herself to deep rehabilitation — earning degrees, completing dozens of healing and accountability programs, and mentoring other women inside. On the official record before the Board, including the conclusions of its own psychologists, she was found suitable for release, determined to be a low risk to public safety, and since found her own identity, her independence and her moral compass. Not only does Patricia meet the special parole consideration category for domestic violence survivors, she also qualifies under youth offender and elderly parole considerations. Stopping Patricia’s release would be a choice to override the evidence and the law, and undermine the state’s commitment to fair treatment for survivors of violence. Now is the time to act. We have a short but powerful window: the Governor has until October 27 to affirm the grant, block it, or refer it for en banc review — Pat’s best chance at coming home. Urge Governor Newsom with us to stand with criminalized survivors who have done the hard work to heal. Speak up for Pat by visiting: gov.ca.gov/contact | Topic: Parole – Governor’s Review. Tell Newsom to honor California’s parole process and let Patricia come home. Trust the process. Trust the experts. #FreePat #ParoleJustice #CriminalizedSurvivors #PatriciaKrenwinkel #mansoncult
