Ooh girl! At my 'advanced' age, I have learned that I have to choose VERY carefully, who I allow into my life. And get this, I don't have ANY friends who will drop everything! and I mean everything to come and be with me. Oh, when everyone thought I was going to die? Yeah, they showed up but get this: it wasn't for me! They were there for my kids, my husband, you know, because they wanted to be seen as "concerned" for them! But I'm not dead, I don't go to church because of the pain I deal with on a daily basis. I don't have anyone checking on me, ya know? My daughter did a "gender reveal" and didn't tell me! I saw the video after! Did I get congratulations for the next grandbaby? No... It's like I'm already dead and gone. Might as well plan a funeral where nobody is going to come.
