The numbers are hard to ignore. In this conversation, Dr. Jennifer Garrison breaks down just how little funding is actually directed toward women's health — and where most of it ends up. Around 8 to 9% of NIH research funding goes to women's health. On the private investment side, the picture is even more striking. Over the last five years, roughly 4% of all investment has gone to everything outside of female cancers, fertility, and maternal fetal health. That means more than 95% of private funding has been concentrated in just three areas. And everything else — menopause, endometriosis, PCOS, and more — is competing for what's left in that tiny remaining bucket. It's a gap that's hard to justify when you consider how many women are affected by the conditions that fall outside of it. This episode is a must watch! Tune into the full conversation, out tomorrow on all major streaming platforms.
