The first documented version landed in a Reddit comment on September 8, 2025, then spread fast through TikTok. This week the portrait is back for a heavier reason. Michael Lewis, the photographer behind it, has died. He also mentored students over the years, including the former pupil whose tribute carried the news. A lot of people who only knew the meme are now learning the name attached to it.
