I bought a moisture meter from Amazon. You put it in the dirt and it’ll tell you if it’s dry or moist or wet. That way even if the dirt looks dry on top the bottom might still have moisture so no need to water until it says dry! It’s helped me to stop over watering my plants 🌱💚

When I got my blue howlite I didn’t realize it was literally salt. Until my 19 month one was running round licking it!!!! OOMMGGG I couldn’t believe it. Like…. We don’t know what’s in that!

I can't tell if your plant has been under watered or over. Just check the soil out, could very well be root rot in which case you need to clean the roots off and cut off any that are rotted. If there is still some healthy roots, just pop the plant in water for a bit till it grows back a nice root system. If all roots are dead but there are nodes present for new roots to start... cut 2cm below that node, let the stump dry out for a day then put the plant in water where the node is submerged. Other possibility is that its root bound which just means you need to go up a pot size.

With your plant check for root rot. First dump the soil, then check the roots for mushiness or bad smell. If any clean under water removing bad bits. Rinse good and replant. Water just enough without soaking. Crossing my fingers for you.
